Research Experience

Haris Gazdar is a Director and Senior Researcher at the Collective for Social Science Research. He has a Masters in economics from the London School of Economics, and worked as a Research Associate at the Asia Research Centre of the LSE before joining the Collective in 2001. Haris has taught economics at the University of Sussex in the UK, done research in India as an Academic Visitor at the Delhi School of Economics, and consulted for a range of international development organizations. He works on poverty and social policy issues, and has been an active participant in the poverty measurement debate in Pakistan. Haris has been involved in innovating qualitative-quantitative approaches to data gathering in Pakistan, and is expected to contribute to methodological issues in valuation, measurement, and sample design in the proposed project.
